Why I do this work
I became a psychologist and mediator because I saw, again and again, that the right support at the right time changes everything — for children, families, and communities.
I began my career as a classroom teacher. Over 38 years working with children, parents, and communities, I became increasingly aware of how much more was needed beyond the curriculum. I encountered children facing profound challenges — behavioural difficulties, family breakdown, grief, and learning differences — and I realised that without the right skills, even the most well-intentioned support could fall short.
This prompted me to specialise. I pursued guidance and counselling, then a Master's in Educational Psychology. I also trained as a certified professional mediator, having seen first-hand how unresolved conflict damages families, workplaces, and communities — and how skilled facilitation can restore what seemed lost.
Today I work with individuals, couples, families, children, and organisations across Kenya — in-person in Nairobi and online. My approach is holistic, honest, and human. I believe every person has the capacity to grow, heal, and find a way forward.
