Therapy can be beneficial for anyone who feels overwhelmed, stuck, or in need of a confidential space to process their experiences. An initial consultation is a low-pressure way to explore whether it feels right.

What happens in the first session?▼

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet, for me to understand what has brought you to therapy, and for you to ask any questions. There is no obligation to continue.

Is everything I say kept confidential?▼

Yes. Everything discussed in therapy is strictly confidential. The only exceptions are situations where I have a professional or legal duty to act. I always explain the limits of confidentiality at the outset.

Do both parties have to agree to mediation?▼

Mediation is voluntary. I can sometimes speak with the other party separately to explain the process and address concerns — often this opens the door.

Do you offer online sessions?▼

Yes. I offer in-person sessions in Nairobi and online sessions via secure video call. Online therapy and mediation are equally effective for most people.
